Professor Kathy Sylva was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Gothenburg on 16 October.
Professor Roger Saljo, Dean of the Faculty of Education, said the award was ‘in recognition of her outstanding research on early childhood education’. The photo shows Professor Sylva receiving a laurel wreath, symbol of achievement, and she was later given a gold ring, symbol of truth and fidelity. The degree ceremony was followed by a celebratory feast at which five different fish were served!>
